NOMA v. SOMA showdown - SF Beer Week 2016

The SF Beer Week is the largest annual gathering of Northern California beer aficionados, breweries, and the craft community. Starting on Pier 35 with the opening Gala night on Friday, we kicked off 100+ events happening this week in San Francisco and greater Bay Area.

In case you missed it (as they sell out every year), fear not. The fun is just starting!

One can participate in all sorts of shenanigans from a Bluegrass jamming workshopmovie screening of the Big LebowskiBowling & beer competition, Craft beer & Tater Tot festival, etc, etc.

How to get more information? Go to sfbeerweek.org. Find a cool event, Invite your friends for a drink. Enjoy an amazing beer. Or two.

Due to the Super Bowl, this year's SF Beer Week is themed with a beer battle between NOMA v. SOMA. Team captains Dave McLean from Magnolia Brewing Co. (Team Soma) and Mike Schnebeck from Fort Point Beer Co. (Team Noma) faced off for a ‘Draft Day’ duel, selecting specialty ingredients to brew with from an amazing assortment of local and artisan foods donated by Whole Foods Market.

This year, we're seeing many new faces and breweries making their debut... Sunset Brewing, Black Sands, Black Hammer, Harmonic, Local Brewing, and many more.

I've also been paying close attention to recent favorites including Cleophus Quealy, Woods Beer, Woodfour, Fort Point, Alpha Acid, Laughing Monk, etc who are making some amazing collaborations and one-offs this week. Look out for them!
